Gen Z took a quick pause from filling out their rooms with vape clouds to express their deep disappointment with Jenna Ortega for smoking cigarettes after she was papped taking a long drag from the dreaded cancer stick. And the captain of the shame ship was led by Jenna’s mom, Natalie Ortega, who as BuzzFeed points out, spammed Instagram with anti-smoking themed memes and articles clearly putting her daughter on blast for dancing with the (Marlboro) red devil.
A video of Jenna smoking while hanging out with fellow actress Gideon Aldon went viral on social media- and while some welcomed her into the cigfluencer family, others shook their heads with disappointment. Here’s what people had to say about it, along with the video in question:

On Instagram, Natalie Ortega posted several memes and articles, all suspiciously related to smoking. One was an image of Gollum from Lord of the Rings with the caption, “Don’t believe those lies about cigarettes being bad for you. I’ve been smoking for most my 21 years and I feel great!”
In another post, she shared an article highlighting the risk of lung cancer for smokers, writing “FACTS” over the photo. She also shared an article about cigarette stench and a meme that read, “ ”mother is always a mother. She never stops worrying about her children, even when they are all grown up and have children of their own.”

If it’s any consolation for Jenna’s mom, some seasoned smokers made comments pointing out that by the look of her form, she’s barely inhaling. One social media user said: “Hahahaha she’s clearly still learning how to inhale/hold her cigarette 👏” At the end of the day, all the critics are right. Smoking IS gross. Why can’t Jenna just use coke like everyone else in Hollywood!!!?!!!??
